SCSCS
Dominion Season Opening Twin 60s Moved One Week Later to Saturday,
April 30th
Statesville,
North Carolina (April 3, 2022) – Avid
followers and enthusiasts of motorsports have become familiar with
the current situation industrywide in regard to low inventories and
tight supply chains when it comes to various parts and products due
to the availability, or lack thereof, of raw materials.
This continues to be the case regarding one necessity in
order to go racing, as a recent SPEED
SPORT article further
expanded upon.
This
past Friday morning, series director Joe Schmaling was updated by
American Racer about a concern with a sufficient quantity of tires
being available in time for the originally scheduled Saturday, April
23rd SCSCS season opening date, but indicated that there is a far
better certainty for the following week.
Per their request, the series immediately contacted Dominion
Raceway facility owner Steve Britt in which the staff graciously
coordinated to move the twin 60-lap races to one week later.
Conveniently
off interstate 95, the multipurpose complex has become a favorite
among fans and racers since being constructed less than a decade
ago. The 4/10-mile oval
has hosted the commencement of the Super Cup Stock Car Series season
since 2018. The
Saturday, April 30th slate will include twin races for the local
Modifieds as well as Virginia Racer Late Models, UCARs, and AnyCars
in addition to the SCSCS festivities.
The
remainder of the 2022 schedule currently remains intact as
originally announced, but as always can be subject to change.
Further
detail will soon be released about the schedule of races throughout
2022 to be filmed with Pit Row TV for SCSCS drivers and teams to
once again be showcased in front of a national audience on the MAVTV
Motorsports Network and associated viewing platforms.
This agreement and relationship continues in 2022 as part of
a joint venture of support from Trick
Shot® Sustainable Products and STAAR Trucking.
A
complete Race Day Schedule as well as forthcoming updates
identifying much of the talent expected to compete in 2022 will be
shared on the Super Cup Stock Car Series official web site supercupstockcarseries.com,
Facebook (search Super Cup Stock Car Series), Twitter (@SCSCSRacing),
and Instagram (SCSCS_Racing) over the coming weeks.
