Incoming
Storms Halt 2025 Running of Shenandoah Speedway Veterans Classic
Statesville,
North Carolina (July 18, 2025) – Unfortunately what has
occurred all too often in 2025 happened once more.
The call was made on Friday not to move forward with the
weekend’s Veterans Classic festivities, including the twin 50-lap
Super Cup Stock Car Series main events that had a season-high 10 or
more cars committed to attending, due to the likelihood of severe
weather expected for race day.
A flash flood watch
remained in effect until Midnight and, although considered, it was
determined that Sunday afternoon instead would not have been
feasible within the limitations that Shenandoah Speedway has for
hours in which racing can take place with such an exciting agenda
planned. Super Cup Stock
Car Series officials will work with the event promoter and track
staff to see if a reschedule date will work for all parties. Regardless,
the teams and competitors look forward to returning to the 3/8-mile
progressively-banked oval in northern Virginia on Saturday, August
30th for Fan Appreciation Day.
The Super Cup Stock
Car Series looks ahead two weeks to the next event, a return to West
Virginia’s Ona Speedway, rescheduled from June 14th, as part of
the Putnam County Bank Throwback Classic.
Racing is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August
2nd.
Further details
about this next event will be provided over the coming week along
with more information available on the Super Cup Stock Car Series
official website supercupstockcarseries.com,
