Completion of 2018 Super Cup Stock Car Series Schedule Features a Multitude of Variety


Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (February 2, 2018) – Hard work behind the scenes and careful consideration has resulted in a Super Cup Stock Car Series 2018 season schedule that is unlike any in the past.


16 races across eight dates at six tracks in five states will contribute toward determining the champion and many other awards during the 11th year of the series, which features 3,300 pound and 600 horsepower full-bodied stock cars.


“2018 is shaping up to be a banner year for our series,” Director of Competition, Joe Schmaling, remarked.  “Once again, our drivers will be showcased in front of a national audience with several new teams expected for this season.”


Drivers will get an earlier start compared to recent years on Saturday, April 28.  Following a popular special event demonstrating the “Racin’ The Way It Used To Be” brand, the SCSCS will make its first appearance for points at the immaculate Dominion Raceway and Entertainment Complex in Thornburg, Virginia.

Guidance from Team Owners a Crucial Piece toward the Puzzle for SCSCS Success


Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (November 14, 2017) – In the race-to-race grind during the Super Cup Stock Car Series summer months the focus is mainly placed upon the individual behind the wheel.  While in some cases in the grassroots short track atmosphere that person is also the one paying the bills, there are some other instances in which the potentially forgotten key to making an opportunity possible is the important aspect of the car owner.


One such personality who often works behind-the-scenes without requesting much recognition is Don Gnat.  The current Indiana resident moved from South Dakota at a young age and tagged along to a Figure 8 race at what is now Anderson Speedway.  The experience as a whole caught his interest and years of dabbling in the local short track world in various roles including as a driver eventually led to 2012 with an eventual SCSCS champion.

Schacht and Brougher Add Names to SCSCS Record Book in Inaugural Dominion Raceway Special Event


Thornburg, Virginia (September 24, 2017) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series made their long-awaited first ever stop at the immaculate Dominion Raceway and Entertainment complex and gave fans that came out a show worth talking about.


The inaugural SCSCS 75-lap non-points special event presented by Avatar Instruments saw Bob Schacht as the driver to beat throughout the afternoon, quickest on short practice runs and claiming the Pole Award with a best time of 15.882 seconds.  2017’s Top Performing Rookie recipient Jerod Brougher made the six-car redraw for the first time in his career and ended up leading the 15-car field to green.


Almost immediately, Schacht marched from his fourth starting position toward the front, but not without a fight from outside pole starter Ben Ebeling.  Ebeling, a winner at Lonesome Pine in early August, successfully gained sole possession of the top spot and led for numerous circuits.

SCSCS Dashes into Post-Season with Inaugural Dominion Raceway Special Event


Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (September 19, 2017) – The champions and award winners may have already been named for the 10th Anniversary season, but numerous Super Cup Stock Car Series drivers and teams still have their 3,300 pound, 600 horsepower machines ready to take on a new challenge.

The Dominion Raceway Inaugural SCSCS Race presented by Avatar Instruments will commence on Saturday, September 23 at the oval portion of the multi-purpose Thornburg, Virginia entertainment complex which opened in early 2016.


The 75-lap distance will be part of Dominion’s First-Time Winners weekend, in which an Extreme Awards and Personalization Trophy Dash for competitors who have never visited victory lane in SCSCS will be an added bonus to the night’s action.

10th Anniversary SCSCS Championship a “Long Time Coming” for Jim Crabtree Jr.


Somerset, Pennsylvania (September 5, 2017) – After ending up close to the ultimate trophy on multiple past occasions, 2017 went in Jim Crabtree Jr.’s favor enough to call himself a Super Cup Stock Car Series champion.  The two times previous runner-up and a number of top supporters were recognized at the annual Awards Presentation the morning following the final event of the regular season held at Jennerstown Speedway Complex.


“It took me a few years, but we finally got one,” an elated Crabtree, whose 10th Anniversary title was his first since 1994 when he competed on the local racing circuit back home in Indiana, said.  “It’s been a long time coming.  Just happy it finally came.”


It was the Muncie resident’s return to the series for the first time since 2013 and preparation was the key in a year that saw one victory and no finish worse than fourth in eight starts.

A Familiar Face to Jennerstown Fans and an Indiana Family Highlight Championship Night


Jennerstown, Pennsylvania (August 27, 2017) – Another record turnout with incredible racing closed out the 2017 regular season for the Super Cup Stock Car Series during Saturday’s Jennerstown Speedway Twin 50s presented by United Tire.


Brent Nelson picked up where he left off in July at the popular Pennsylvania 1/2-mile with his second Pole Award of the season in his No. 80 Airtek Inc. / Precision Auto Collision / Berg Construction Chevrolet.  Despite drawing to start up front as well, the Petersburg, West Virginia would have some eager competition to contend with on this night.

Championships, Race Wins, and Even More Up for Grabs in SCSCS August Jennerstown Twin 50s


Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (August 22, 2017) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series will be capping off the 10th Anniversary regular season in a big way this coming weekend in Pennsylvania.  Three champions and many additional trophy recipients will be named over the course of the Jennerstown Speedway Complex Twin 50’s presented by United Tire.


The most prestigious award on the line is the title of 10th SCSCS champion.  Jim Crabtree Jr. is currently in the driver’s seat after an incredibly consistent 2017 to date in his first full-time return to the series since consecutive runner-up points finishes in 2012 and 2013.  The driver of the No. 63 Jim's Automotive / Judy's Apartments Chevrolet has not finished worse than fourth all year long and won a feature the most recent time out at Lonesome Pine Raceway earlier in the month.
