Shenandoah
Speedway Welcomes SCSCS Once Again for Championship Night
Statesville,
North Carolina (October 7, 2026) – A whole lot of buzz has
been building during the past few months since the Super Cup Stock
Car Series last competed. All
of it culminates with Valley to Victory Championship Night at
Shenandoah Speedway. It
will mark the third time in the last four years that the surrounding
mountain scenery has hosted the season finale for drivers and teams.
Entering the twin
50-lap main events, Chrissy Wallace holds a 150-point advantage over
Damian Payton, originally from Summit Point, West Virginia, and
Renick, West Virginia’s Harvey Harrison only 50 more back.
The Concord, North Carolina third-generation driver only
needs a solid finish or two replicating her results all year long to
come away with the 2026 title.
During the April
opener at Shenandoah, Payton claimed his second consecutive victory
at the 3/8-mile progressively banked oval in which he began racing
Legends cars as a teenager. Wallace
started off the year with what was her worst result to date of f
ourth
but followed it up with a win in the second race at a track she had
never competed before that day.
Wallace has won the last four races that were held at home
state tracks Carteret County and Orange County during the month of
June, while Payton has been ultra consistent with an average finish
of 2.6 this year.
Two-time champion
Harrison is looking for his first victory of 2026; however, he might
be the most excited for what has been a long-awaited first for the
series. Both his son
Brian Harrison and grandson Logan Harrison will be racing, the first
time in history three generation will be on track at the same time.
It will be Logan’s debut after multiple test sessions at
tracks in both Virginia and West Virginia.
Altogether, there
could be up to seven states represented in the field on Saturday,
October 10th. The
aforementioned state of West Virginia will have 2024 champion and
five-time Shenandoah winner Brent Nelson as well as Larry Frame, a
former regular in the track’s Mini Mod division, represented.
Virginia itself will have 2014 champion JJ Pack making his
first appearance of the year.
A couple more
drivers making their 2026 debut come from the Keystone State.
Littlestown, Pennsylvania’s Jason Schue and Warrington’s
Mike Senica both finished top five in points during the 2024 season
and each have their best career finish of third coming previously at
Shenandoah. Richard
Hauck from Howell, Michigan plans to make his first start since
2023, which concluded with an eighth-place finish at the same
facility.
Then there is
Owensboro, Kentucky; a town and state that has brought multiple
stock car racing stars to the top of the sport.
One of them currently intends to be at Shenandoah, his first
time racing there. Five-time
NASCAR Cup Series winner Jeremy Mayfield is scheduled to run as a
teammate to Wallace. His
previous SCSCS results include a pair of runner-up performances and
a Pole Award at Carteret County.
Pit gates open at
10:00 a.m. with the first of two practice sessions for the SCSCS
Gen-4 style machines taking place at approximately 12:15 p.m.
Qualifying gets underway around 3:15 p.m.
Spectators are
encouraged to arrive early as there will be a fan pit party on the
frontstretch from 5:00 until 5:45 with races beginning at 6:00.
General admission on Saturday is only $10 at the gate.
The evening will feature a packed program that also includes
Legends cars, Bandoleros, Crown Vics, Stock 4s, and the Virginia
Sprint Cars.
As
announced previously, for those unable to make it to the track
on Saturday, VidaneTV will be broadcasting all the action live and
free of charge to watch at https://www.youtube.com/vidanetv/live
and https://vidane.tv/live.
Following the final checkered flag, the annual post-season
trophy and awards presentation will occur.
There will be an
optional practice offered from Noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday with
cost being $50 per car.
