Super Cup Will Not Be Part of
Tri-County August 15th Program; Makeup Date Being Arranged
Statesville,
North Carolina (August 9, 2026) – Inclement weather conditions
have thrown many tracks up and down the eastern part of the country
for a curve ever since the Super Cup Stock Car Series last competed
June 20th at Orange County Speedway.
As a result, multiple postponements have led to the date of
the next event being modified.
The SCSCS was set
to make its return to North Carolina’s Tri-County Speedway on
August 15th following successful twin non-points main events at the
conclusion of the 2025 season. The
4/10-mile oval has not been immune to necessary changes in their
plans over recent time. Their
July 4th Firecracker weekend, which includes a 125-lap feature for
their local Late Models, was postponed to the end of July and again
rained out on that date.
With those
festivities being rescheduled for the weekend the series was
originally going to be hosted, it unfortunately meant that the SCSCS
portion will have to be arranged for a makeup date in which series
and track officials are working to find and will be announced once
confirmed.
Sights once more
shift over to West Virginia’s only paved short track, Ona
Speedway, for the next races on Saturday, September 12th.
