Super Cup Portion of Putnam County Bank Throwback Classic Postponed Due to Unfavorable Weather

Statesville, North Carolina (July 29, 2026) – Despite all the good fortune weather-wise throughout 2026 leading up all the way until about a day ago, the Super Cup Stock Car Series has made the decision to postpone their appearance at Ona Speedway that was scheduled for Saturday, August 1st.

An unfavorable forecast of precipitation appears to be moving in earlier than originally expected and with the system predicted to persist for numerous hours once it arrives and some teams traveling from afar it was best to make the call early.  A reschedule date will be announced within the coming days.

Ona Speedway currently intends to proceed with their local program for the Putnam County Bank Throwback Classic and fans are encouraged to support those festivities.  The region has unfortunately been hammered with inclement conditions on weekends since prior to the summer and well wishes are certainly going out to promoter TJ Layne and team for a successful show.
