Goes to the Beach: Inaugural Carteret County Speedway Visit up Next
Statesville,
North Carolina (June 2, 2026) – The first of two maiden trips
to tracks within the Tar Heel state during the month of June for the
Super Cup Stock Car Series takes place this Saturday.
Carteret County Speedway is only minutes from the Crystal
Coast and competitors and their families have been making beach
plans around nearby Emerald Isle in addition to the action that is
going to take place on the 4/10-mile oval on race day.
Dubbed
“America’s Nicest Short Track”, the facility located in
Swansboro, North Carolina opened its current layout in 2015
featuring a full-service restaurant in the infield, adjacent
campground, and decorative touches all over to be seen. Challenges
will also be presented to race teams navigating the extremely flat
two-degree banking in the corners.
Points leader
Chrissy Wallace is the only known series regular with prior
experience at Carteret County, finishing in the top five there with
another series in the past. Drivers
closest in the points such as Winston-Salem, North Carolina’s
Damian Payton and Renick, West Virginia’s Harvey Harrison will
look to adapt quickly with the handling of their cars to a unique
set of track characteristics.
Multiple teams may
arrive early and take advantage of the optional practice session
being offered on Friday from 4:00 through 7:00 p.m. at
a
low price of $40 per car and driver with no charge for crew members
or spectators. On race
day, as part of the “School’s Out” themed event, spectator
gates open at 5:00 p.m. in time for qualifying with a driver meet
and greet for fans scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
The first green
flag flies at 7:00 p.m., including twin races for the Super Cup
Stock Car Series ready to put on a show.
An exciting variety is offered during the evening’s racing
program, additionally featuring Champ Karts, Bombers, four-cylinder
U-Cars, and the classic East Coast Flathead Ford organization.
All festivities will be streamed live for Ultra
Broadcasting subscribers.
General admission
is $15 with discounts available at the gate for active duty and
retired military. Bringing
the entire family is encouraged, as not only are kids ages 6-10
admitted for $5 with free admission for kids 5 and under, but during
intermission there is opportunity for them to participate or root on
their peers in the “Juice Box” races.
