One Month Away; Super Cup Stock Car
Series Ready to Launch 2025 Journey
Statesville, North Carolina (March
18, 2025) – It has been a winter full of changes with
excitement steadily building toward commencing with the 18th season
of Super Cup Stock Car Series racing.
It all begins on Friday, April 18th as a return to Kingsport
Speedway for the first time since 2019 is the first of seven event
dates that have been secured for this year.
The twin races that kick off the 2025
campaign at the Eastern Tennessee facility known as the “Concrete
Jungle” will be held in remembrance to Mike Potter.
The Johnson City, Tennessee driver, who passed away in late
2022, finished on the podium in prior SCSCS races at the 3/8-mile
oval. He was also a
winning car owner with past series champion Ben Ebeling behind the
wheel as part of a five-car effort during one of the seasons at his
home track. In fact,
numerous cars, drivers, officials, and crew members that are
expected to be on hand have a connection to Potter’s legacy.
Bookending the weekends during the
month of May will feature visits to the Southwest corner of the
Virginia commonwealth, both at Lonesome Pine Motorsports Park.
On Saturday the 3rd, the presence of local food trucks will
add to the allure for those wishing to grab a delicious bite while
enjoying the twin 50-lap races and additional divisions of
competition. The May
31st date at the 3/8-mile oval located in the town of Coeburn that
hosted the 2024 season finale for the series is going to be Fan
Appreciation Night.
Taking place on Saturday, June 14th
is a return to Ona Speedway. The
only pavement oval in West Virginia last had the roar of Super Cup
engines in the air back in 2013, and many drivers who regularly
compete in the series will be looking forward to this one as they
call the state home.
Saturday, July 19th will be a
familiar event taking place in a new month.
The annual Veterans Classic is going to be a height of summer
experience this time around at the picturesque Shenandoah Speedway
compound-banked 3/8-mile oval nestled in the mountains of northern
Virginia. Since one
visit is not enough, Shenandoah will also host the series on
Saturday, August 30th as part of Meet and Greet Night.
Rounding out the schedule will be an
inaugural appearance at the Little Rockingham short track that bears
resemblance to Martinsville Speedway in a much-anticipated finale on
the legendary Rockingham Speedway property.

Pack, frequent series regulars Larry Frame, Mike Senica, and Jason
Schue, and returning and new competitors such as Jeff Thomas,

throughout the year with more expected.

racers leading into the various events.
