Classic and Season-Ending Trophy Presentation Slated for Saturday at
Lonesome Pine
Statesville,
North Carolina (September 26, 2024)
– Mother Nature has certainly thrown a few curveballs in 2024, but
the plan remains intact to conclude the Super Cup Stock Car Series
season at Lonesome Pine Motorsports Park on Saturday afternoon.
Both winners this
year, Petersburg, West Virginia’s Brent Nelson and Uniontown,
Pennsylvania’s Bill Ashton, are 40 points apart where each look to
secure not only their first career championship but also their first
victory at the banked 3/8-mile oval in Southwestern Virginia.
The series title has been decided within the Commonwealth on
four prior  instances,
but this will be the first time the recipients of the final hardware
will be settled on the Coeburn asphalt.
Larry Frame from
Yellow Spring, West Virginia will simply need to start this
weekend’s races to lock up Top Performing Rookie honors in 2024.
Pennsylvanians Mike Senica and Jason Schue are currently tied
for fourth in points. Both
Frame and Senica will be making their Lonesome Pine debut.
Pit gates open at
Noon with alternating practice between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Feature
racing is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. with festivities including
Legends, Bandoleros, Rookie Four Cylinders, and Lonesome Pine’s
first ever Crown Vic race in addition to the twin SCSCS main events.
The facility’s Go Kart track will also be open.
Grandstand general admission will be only $5 with kids 10 and
under admitted for free. Tickets

Following the final
checkered flag, the series will host their annual season-ending
awards and trophy presentation on the track property.
