Super
Cup Stock Car Series Succumbs to Rain During Season Opening Weekend
at Hickory
Skyland,
North Carolina (April
21, 2014) –
A progressively
strengthening low pressure system brought inclement weather across
the southeast throughout the early parts of the Easter weekend,
forcing the cancellation of the season opening Super Cup Stock Car
Series event at Hickory Motor Speedway.
“Due
to our competitors’ family obligations with the holiday weekend we
decided not to reschedule our race to Sunday,” said series
Director of Competition Joe Schmaling. “It was a pleasure to work
with the Pro All Stars Series and we would like to thank them for
their support and invitation to be a part of their event.”
The
Super Cup Stock Car Series now looks ahead to its next race during
the second weekend of May.
This will be the first appearance for the series at
Jennerstown Speedway in Pennsylvania, and will be the grand opening
weekend for the facility that has been inactive since 2008.
