K2 Motorsports Preparing for a Run at Two Titles in 2013

Steady improvement and marked success have been the norm for veteran driver Kevin Kromer during the family-owned team's four year tenure, but they are ambitiously ready to make a bid for two championships in the Super Cup Stock Car Series this year.

"I'm working on getting mentally prepared to do my job.  It's a matter of preparing," Kevin recently remarked about his expectations going into the new season. The last three seasons have resulted in top three finishes in the final standings as well as wins at Midvale Speedway in 2011 and Motordrome Speedway in 2012.  The win at Motordrome was special not only because it took place in the Walnutport, Pennsylvania team's home state, but it was with a borrowed engine from another team after suffering some problems with their own earlier that week.  It also took place on Father's Day weekend, in which Kevin's son Kyle took his first laps on the track in a Super Cup car.

Kyle Kromer will be running for rookie of the year in 2013 in a car that was rebuilt from the ground up with the team's first in-house motor under the hood.  The main goal will be for Kyle to get seat time for the 2013 season.  Kyle comes into the series with a background in go-kart racing, including a championship which came thirty years to the day after his father's third and final karting championship. The teenage driver will be sponsored by and supporting the Bo Tkach Foundation, and the team has been appearing at various local events in addition to at the track to promote awareness for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other mental health issues.

Kevin will once again have sponsorship from his Kromer Plumbing, Heating and Air business as well as Roush-Yates Performance Parts, Marvin C. Olewine Jr. Plumbing, Heating and Air, and Ed Yesik Trucking.

The team may have some very serious goals for the upcoming season, but since joining the series at the end of 2008 Kevin has found it to be the most affordable and enjoyable:   "By far the best series I've ever run."  Follow along with them on Facebook at their K2 Motorsports 77/52 page, and continue to look for more updates on www.supercupstockcarseries.com leading up to the season opener at Shenandoah Speedway.
