Super
Cup Series to Open Its Fifth Year at
Columbus
Motor
Speedway
The
green flag at Columbus Motor Speedway will not only begin the first
event of the 2012 SCSCS season but also the fifth year of
competition for the series. 2012 will feature nine races in
2012, six main event races and three challenge series races with all
having championship
implications.
In
the six races of 2011 there were five different winners making the
Super Cup Series one of the most competitive series going. The first
ever Challenge race was such a success that been turned into
a mini series with a points system of its own. Challenge
races will be held after the main event at selected tracks in 2012.
The
season will conclude in late September at Lonesome
Pine Raceway which is also celebrating forty years of racing.
Super Cup will run its 100 lap Championship race plus the Challenge
finale and possibly add a special race to end the year.
