Team Gillespie # 18 Sporting new Sponsorship in 2010 from Valley Trucking of Floyd VA.

Ricky Gillespie (Ricky G) started racing Go Karts at the age of 8,  at 12 he started racing asphalt tracks and has never looked back.  In just a few years he moved from U Cars to Mini Stocks to Late Model.  When Ricky was 18 the Super Cup series caught his eye when they visited his home track (FCS) in the Spring where he raced in the Late Model Division.

By the time Super Cup came back to Franklin County Speedway in September Ricky had traded his Late Model for a Super Cup car.  In 2009, Team Gillespie ran about half the scheduled races to get a feel for the competition.

Now poised and ready to run the full season, Ricky and team are looking to do well with sponsorship from Valley Trucking and Genes Auto Shop  both located in Floyd VA .

Bobby Gillespie, Team owner and father,  said being able to race in Super Cup is a big deal for their team,  "We needed to find a way to get Ricky exposure with a touring series".  Super Cup Stock Car Series is the ticket, it offers low cost tour racing on radial tires and some of the best racing around.

Super Cup held an unscheduled exhibition race at Franklin County Speedway on July 3^rd 2009 for the fans in attendance, which Ricky won.

Ricky's plan this year is to win a few more, with help from his newest sponsor Valley Trucking, his parents, grandparents and close friends.  Ricky enjoys the competition and thanks everyone that helps him each and every race.
