Comeback for Harrison at Lonesome Pine Raceway
Skyland,
North Carolina (June 2, 2009) - Round two picked up right
were it left off at Columbus Motor Speedway. With a battle
between Tyler Nuckles and Jake Crum.
Starting with qualifying, and continuing into the race.
Winning the pole with a time of 16.792 was the # 1 of Jake Crum.
Outside front row was # 71Tyler Nuckles with a time of 16.836.
After draw/invert Nuckles started inside row # 1 with Kevin Kromer
on the outside. # 1 Crum started inside row two next to # 12
Mohelski.
Things went well for the two drivers from the beginning of the
day. Two front running contenders had engine failures and were
unable to start. Two more cars didn`t get to the track before
the race started, leaving Jake and Tyler as the favorites.
The two jumped out front and never looked back lapping cars as
they caught them.
Looking back wasn`t the problem, looking forward was, the two
bumped and banged switching positions several times and drawing ire
from the race director.
After a series of cautions and a warning the two were parked for
the night.
Harvey Harrison # 51 and Michael Mohelski # 12 raced side by side
door to door for the win with experience edging out the young man
from Maryland in his second race of the series.
Persistence and perseverance rewarded Harvey with a win in his
third start. After a serious crash at CMS no one thought
Harvey Harrison would ever get to Lonesome Pine Raceway. Sometimes
you need to be good and sometimes you need to be lucky, Harvey was
both.
Super Cup Series congratulates Harvey Harrison and his team for a
job well Done.
The Super Cup moves on to Shenandoah Speedway on June 13th
where there will be peace in the valley, YEAH RIGHT!!
